Reviews
Great place for live great music in particular on Friday and Saturday night. All ages are welcome and everyone is invited to enjoy great vibes. It is a historic music institution of the Hague. If you want a place with positive energy, then De Paap is the answer!
Scam, they ask entrance and throw one of the group out without reason. Most impolite bouncers ever
I wish I could take away stars from the people who rated this place positively. I was extremely disappointed by the rude and almost racist behaviour of a bartender who refused entry to my Sikh friend for not removing his cap. For the uninformed, believers of Sikhism often cover their head with a turban or a cap. It’s their way of showing reverence to the faith. When the bartender asked him to remove the cap, my friend offered him an explanation as to why he couldn’t take the cap off, but the bartender refused to listen to him. When we pointed to several men( white) dancing in the crowd with their caps on the bartender said “ no discussion, leave”. The bartender didn’t care to explain why some people with the caps were allowed whilst my friend was not.
I am sure he must have had a good reason but he didn’t think it was important enough to elaborate it.
All we wanted was to enjoy a drink and groove, but the experience left us salty.
The management needs to clearly define the entry rules and apply them without any discrimination or bias based on colour or faith. Otherwise, I am certain incidents such as this will make this place extremely unpopular amongst the coloured expat community.
Went to watch a rock band play pop hits. (Mash Anarchy) The bar was almost empty until about 5 minutes before the band went on and then it was packed. Excellent service.
Really nice staff, cloak room included with entry price, open quite late and reasonably good mix of music. If you are up for a little party, this seems like the place to be.
Careful, Scammers! Purposely overcharging you. I was ordering a beer and they charged me for 2. The same happened to a lot of friends of mine. The floor is really sticky and the drinks are overpriced (even for the Hague standards). I can only suggest you to stay away from this place ! There are way better places in town, where you have a better atmosphere, better prices and actually honest bartenders
Worst place ever. Unfriendly, hypocrite bouncers.
This place is nowadays a scam. Door policy is random. Entrance fee is 5€ and the bouncers seem to accept cash only (to put into their own pockets). It used to be a respectable place.
